The #liberated library campaign seeks to further diversify the Brunel library and offer new books from people of colour, female, LGBT+ and disabled authors. The campaign enhances the student experience when accessing the library, whilst also liberating student’s education away from standard white male and Eurocentric reading lists.
We invited students to suggest books throughout November 2017, which has resulted in the purchase of 59 diverse new additions to the library catalogue. As part of the second #Liberated Library campaign we are delighted to invite you to the Liberated Library Book launch on February the 22nd from 3pm to 4.30pm in the Academy, Hamilton Centre
Everyone is very welcome to join us for a free drinks reception as we launch the books purchased and celebrate the #Liberated Library campaign at Brunel University London
The event will include:
– Performances from Creative Writing students
– Display of purchased books
– Information on the Students Success Project
– Information on an exciting new creative competition
– Free refreshments
– Poetry reading from special guest, John Agard
– Slam Poetry competition
